Season’s Gratitude

In the past week, both Julie and I have been thinking about the last 12 months and all of the good times as well as the challenges we’ve faced.  One thing is certain, we would not still be in business if it wasn’t for our amazing employees and our loyal and generous clients.  We started the current incarnation of Red Carpet Events and Design in the fall of 2008, right as the economy was in decline.  I’m not sure if we are incredible optimists (we are!) or oblivious to possible failure (yes to that as well), either way, we both knew that we believed in the product that we could produce and feel lucky that we get to do what we do every day.Image

So, as we busily work on all of our December parties, we want to thank all of our friends who have helped us to build our business:employees, customers and our fellow event professionals.  We appreciate all of you more than you’ll ever know and wish you the happiest of holidays

NACE Awards

Red Carpet Events and Design was honored to have won the “Best Event Production Over $75,000” at the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) conference held in Austin, TX this past week. The NACE awards recognize excellence in catering and events and honors superstars of the industry.

We were honored for creating a magnificent Christmas party at the Reno Ballroom this past December. Below are a few pictures of our award winning event.

We couldn’t have won this award without all of our partners, especially Creative Coverings, who provided all of the linens for this event. We are so proud of our employees who made this event a success and look forward to continuing to apply our innovative, resourceful and passionate team towards creating your next remarkable event.

Luxurious Winter Weddings

Recently, Red Carpet Events and Design was asked to create two very unique weddings in the Lake Tahoe area, and they couldn’t have been more different.

The first wedding was a glamorous affair with crystals, feathers, silver candelabras and other glittery accents around the room.  The tables were covered in ‘Tiffany Blue’ linen from Creative Coverings with various tables accented with a ‘Soho’ overlay.  The glow of candles made this beautiful winter wedding feel warm and intimate despite the freezing temperatures.

The bride and groom, along with their families were a delight to work with.  Their creativity was refreshing as we always enjoy hearing new ideas from our clients.

The second wedding was all about the feel of nature and the beauty and joy of Lake Tahoe.  As the bride walked down the aisle, she was accompanied by a ton of glass vases filled with pine cones and floating candles to light the path to her soon-to-be husband.  Tree branches and various florals complemented the ceremony space as well as the reception area while bright pinks and oranges brightened the greenery around the room.

Again, the newly weds were incredible!  We are so lucky in our profession to work with people like these that simply have an amazing personality.  It makes our job easy!

Welcome 2010

Wow, 2010 already!

Red Carpet Events and Design started the year off right by decorating for seven New Year’s Eve parties around the area.  Our staff literally worked around the clock to make everything perfect!  Feathers, fringe and fun linen made each event its own!  Pictures will be posted soon to our Flickr account, so be sure to check it out!

Now, we are heading toward Winter Weddings and Super Bowl parties for Football Fanatics!  The Winter Olympics are also making a big appearance in our office, as we prepare for many organizations to welcome this prestigious event.

If you need any decor for your upcoming parties, please give us a call!  We can design a tropical event to cure your winter blues, or wake you from your winter hibernation with bright colors at a classy affair!

We love Turkey!

This week, my business partner Julie organized an event for one of her long-time clients at the Stremmel Gallery here in Reno.  What a luxury to work in such a beautiful venue!  For all of you planners the gallery is available for events, just talk to Turkey Stremmel, the elegant and accomodating owner.

All we had to do to accent the already gorgeous setting was to place some striking florals and linens.  We also got to bring in our plexiglass podium, which fit the decor beautifully. The ”Who’s Who” crowd appreciated the tasteful catering of Debbie Branby’s Cheese Board and her professional staff.

After the reception, Julie and her husband Christian Nobis (co-owner of Creative Coverings, which just so happens to be the provider of the linens we used!) got to enjoy dinner at LuLou’s with her client.  The restaurant served phenomenal dishes as always.  We plan hard, so we get to play hard, right?
